Fun in the sun: A photovoltaic finish for Australia's solar car race
A solar car built by a team of students from Tokai University, Japan, won the annual solar race in Australia, the Global Green Challenge. Tokai had a near-faultless run, marred only by a flat tire 1,750 miles from the Darwin start. The second-place finisher was the usual victor: The Nuon team from the Netherlands, which won the consecutive events in 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007. Read the full story.
