Suntech, Sunovia, IMEC, Q-Cells, Fraunhofer & Oerlikon Hit World PV Efficiency Records
At the 24th European PV Conference in Hamburg last week, there was a shower of efficiency world records: Suntech (multi-crystalline silicon modules: 16.53%), Fraunhofer (n-type silicon cells: 23.4%) and Oerlikon (amorphous silicon single-junction cells: >10%) and impressive results from Sunovia (single-junction and two junction CdTe cells), IMEC (GaAs/Ge multijunction cell), Q-Cells (polycrystalline silicon cells).
